, turn of the 20th century,
British Ship's Binnacle Stand
Compass & Helm Combination.
A TRUE MUSEUM QUALITY ITEM!!!
Made of very hefty bronze, brass,
& rich red mahogany.
The unit is quite huge, standing
63 1/2" tall x 26" deep x 52" wide
The unit is complete with its
findlers tube, oil burner, fully functional compass,
front & rear access doors,
skylight, navigators balls, inclinometer,
& bronze mounting adjustabable
feet.
The gorgeous mahogany wheel
has
pinned brass accents,
a folding quick turn handle, outer mahogany
wheel rim, cast iron hub, &
brass cap.
The wheel is 52" in diameter
& has a weight on its own of 62 pounds.
The total weight of this unit
is a colossal 318 pounds!!!
The "CROWN LOGO"
appears on both the inclinometer,
& the compass card face.
