A beautiful, custom made, late 19th century telescope, very
large
& quite hefty, with a draw at each end, made of solid brass.
The center is covered with stained & sealed sail cloth, with
turk knots
at each end, a custom made item, & very rare find.

"18TH CENTURY 7 DRAW TELESCOPE"
An extremely rare, 18th century seven draw telescope, made of silver
plated
brass with the main section covered in leather.
This unique scope was made by
HARRIS
47 HOLBORN
LONDON
William Harris, lived at this address between
1767 & 1827, as well
as Thomas Harris, between 1799 & 1812.
The unit is engraved both on the final draw,
as well as on the eye piece.
It was not the norm for the signature/engraving
to be in two places in close proximity, &
it is believed that the scope was returned
to Harris at some point to have the
eyepiece repaired, in which the second engraving
was added.
The unit was recently
sent out for replacement of the leather &
tightening of the drawers by a professional
telescope craftsmen.
All lenses & draws are 100% original &
in fully functional
condition.
A wonderful item that survived 200 years &
is in
near perfect condition.

"INCREDIBLE 10 DRAW 19TH CENTURY TELESCOPE"
An extremely rare , 10 draw , plus sunshade draw, prototype telescope,
Made of solid silver plated brass, with the main section covered
in leather.
This telescope is believed to be made by an apprentice working for
a a well
known British maker of optics, who was trying to impress his employer
of
his skills.
The item is very long when extended, 55 1/2" inches & cannot
be held properly
for viewing by just one person due to its hefty weight & length.
The huge unit collapses to an incredible 10 1/2" inches closed.

The unit is in excellent condition for its
age, however its quite
hard to view its function as it is almost
impossible to steady due
to its long length without a stand or second
person to assist.
Just a true one of a kind item you will not
find anywhere.

This is a very rarely seen item made for the
"British Naval Admiralty"
The item has its original two piece
velvet lined leather case,

British Naval Captain's collection from the
town of
WHITBY, NORTH YORKSHIRE, ENGLAND
