This is a true museum quality item marked as follows:
The cast iron cap has a floral design on it, with an anchor
at the center & the word "HOPE"

Patented November 12th, 1889
The base is marked, the marine capstan # B which relates to the model
Manual Crank Capstan
Barrel diameter 8 1/2" inches(center of unit), Base Diameter 24 1/2", Height 31"
Unit weight 600 pounds.
