"PERKINS MARINE OIL LANTERN"
An original, all brass, Perkins Marine Oil Lantern.
This unit is quite rare, most had clear glass, however this one
has a
beautiful , & quite thick, etched glass. The etching was examined by a lantern expert & determined
that it was not factory applied, but etched by mother nature during use.
THIS TYPE LANTERN WAS CALLED A
"STANDING LIGHT"
& WAS USED ABOARD US NAVAL TORPEDO BOATS, BATTLE SHIPS, &
DESTROYERS
OF THE WORLD WAR 1 ERA
