An unusual design made of varnished knotty pine,
a stainless steel adjustment pin to set the height of the shell,
and a large knife made of steel with a wooden handle, made
in the U.S.A. by
"FOSTER BROTHERS"
(the knife alone is an early 1900 collector item)
A great item for display in a great restaurants raw bar,
or just for that unusual shell fish lover.

"CUSTOM MADE LARGE FISHING NET FLOAT"

A Very Rare , Custom/Handmade Fishing Net Float

Such an item was used to mark off & hold very large fishing nets usually

500 or more feet in length, this item was not an item that all fishing fleets could purchase

but custom made by a blacksmith for a particular fishing fleet

The unit looks like a WWII Ordinate and is in excellent condition for its age

It is unlikely that many more such items have survived the ages

Approx 60" L x 16" W x 20" H to top of handle
