The following are replicas of ancient
Roman, Egyptian, & Greek Amphora's
recovered from shipwrecks in the
Mediterranean Sea dating back
to the 6th through 1st centuries BC.

A Spanish company has created, & patented
a unique system for making
"EXACT REPLICAS"
of the original amphora's.

THE PRODUCTION PROCESS

A craftsman potter first makes an exact clay
form of the original museum pieces, then they
are submitted to electrolytic corrosion
for a period of three months.

After which they are submerged by divers
in the Mediterranean Sea, at the port of
Carboneras at Almeria , Spain.

The city has a very unique power plant, with a
filtering system that removes natural fauna & flora
from entering the plant facilities.
All matter that is rejected by the filter is piped
back into the sea, and it is here that divers
place the amphora's.
The warm sea water & the high concentration
of organic matter create ideal conditions
for the aging effect of the pottery.

The items are left by divers for a period
of no less than nine months, changing
 the position of each from time to time.
The final product is so convincing that its originality
can only be determined by an expert.

A beautiful reproduction of an amphora, used by ancient mariners

These wonderful items are made by man & mother nature via an accelerated
mode to reveal all the patina of the originals from ancient times.
This unit  has a flat bottom that can stand on its own without the base.
The item comes complete with a custom patinated floor stand , wall hanger bracket,
&  burlap sack.
All amphora's are made in a very limited series, & numbered via a
attached tag, none being exactly the same as any other.
